Adventures in Quarantining Day 1

I guess that the clock is starting over. We found out yesterday that we were exposed to a Covid-19 over the weekend. After following the rules for several months and being very cautious it doesn’t surprise me that it happens the first time that we have been allowed to see friends since lockdown restrictions were put in place. At least before we could take a walk around the block to get some fresh air, now that is not an option.

Cheating a bit from yesterday. 😬

When you’re trying to stream the church service but you have a 2 year old that wants your attention. You compromise. 😂

It’s so cute and funny watching kids try to pronounce new words. Emma is starting to say “Bless you” when someone sneezes. However, it comes out like “Bless chew”. 😂

Importing all the things

I finally sat down this morning and imported all of the posts from my Wordpress site into micro.blog. I didn’t have many posts there so it didn’t take long and was pretty straightforward. Since Wordpress has some custom features for images, such as cover images and image galleries, I had to do some manual image imports. Once again, this wasn’t too bad since I didn’t have that many images at the moment.

It can definitely be challenging working from home right now, especially with kids. Our daughter is two, and it’s a struggle at times since she doesn’t understand why I can’t play with her whenever she wants me to. However, I would not trade it for anything at the moment. It has been really nice getting to see how she grows and learns everyday. Just a few months ago she was make 2-3 word sentences. Now she’s making 5-6 word sentences. I know that I would still be seeing her in the evening when I come home from work, but seeing these changes as they happen is something special. 😊

What can I say about this amazing woman? I still can’t believe that she said yes and decided to walk along side me in marriage. I feel as blessed today as I did the day we started dating. She has been my rock and best friend. She is such an amazing woman and mother to our two daughters. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t honor both of them.

Mother’s Day is always hard since we lost our first daughter. We had some special family time this morning as our youngest wanted to have a princess dance party. This was very emotional since we were missing one family member. But seeing the strength that Shannon has in these moments is awe inspiring and gives me strength as well.

I just pray that I can continue to honor her as a husband and let her know how amazing she is as a wife and mother.

I love you so much and cherish each day that we have together.

Found my quote for the day.

That moment when you change your 1Password master password and then forget it. Yeah, that’s a fun one. 😂🙄

Going All In On Micro.blog

I had planned for this to be my first post on micro.blog but I kept putting it off to see how I would like it. I have tried a couple of times now to start blogging, but each time I publish a couple of posts and then I quit. I struggled to figure out why. I had a desire to post things but I also struggle with public opinion and if what I have or want to say is good enough. There was also the issue of the tools. I really like Wordpress, however, I started to realize that it was also a problem for me.
